No, SpotOn doesn’t use mesh topology. Mesh networks often suffer from performance loss, interference and obstructions. Mesh networks are useful for home networks though, because it usually only has to connect a few devices. Using mesh topology for a professional network however, isn’t recommended.
SpotOn only works with access points that work in a cloud. Usually access points have to be connected to one controller (core router). For SpotOn’s CloudSpots this isn’t required! Our controller is in the cloud. Plug the internet cable into a CloudSpot and the CloudSpots will recognize each other through the controller in the cloud. This makes SpotOn’s plug&play system very user-friendly.
